Salt Spring Island (often spelled Saltspring) is off the West Coast of British Columbia, between Vancouver Island and the Mainland. It is the most populated and largest of the Southern Gulf Islands, with its own hospital, numerous schools, and amenities such as high speed Internet and cable TV. Although waterfront houses command a significant price, there are less expensive homes/ properties available all over the Island, including some which also feature stunning lake and ocean views. I have enjoyed being an award-winning realtor on Salt Spring Island for the 35 years this lovely and friendly place has been my home. It has something for everyone – passionate interest in the arts, opportunity to spend time on the water, dedicated involvement in ecological issues and a “green” economy, for example.
